Strategist - design and environmental analysis

We are presently searching for a Strategist in our New York office. The Strategist, working under the direction of a senior member of the team, is responsible for gathering statistical data and analyzing the balance of people, place and process in the workplace for the purpose of developing solutions to assist clients in achieving their workplace goals as a direct service and within the integrated context of a project design team.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Engage with clients to gather data and performs research and strategic analysis of factors that affect the workplace (i.e. employee work patterns, communication, process integration, organizational culture, workplace effectiveness).
- Synthesizes information into proposed solutions and recommendations; provides detailed data and findings that support the proposed solutions.
- Works with clients as well as design and technical staff to develop solutions for clients short and long-term workplace goals.
- Continuously reviews and conducts on-going research on workplace strategies. May write papers on strategies topics or make public presentations.
- Creates project deliverables in line with scope of work.
- Manages own workload and may also coordinate with others for project support.
- Makes presentations and interacts with clients on a regular basis.
- May write portions of proposals and attend client interviews.
- Engage in initiatives to enhance practice tools and resources.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of architecture or design school or business: equivalent experience may be substituted
- 5+ years’ experience in corporate interior design projects or equivalent, 2+ years’ in strategy consulting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of design principles and strategies.
- Intermediate documentation and field observation skills.
- Reasonable understanding of relationship between design and value to business.
- Strong presentation, written, verbal, and graphic communication skills.
- Intermediate MS Office Suite skills
- Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Manage and lead junior staff through a combination of direct authority and subject matter expertise
Working Conditions:
All levels of Strategies staff have the same working conditions. For the majority of the time all staff will be working in an office with limited physical requirements. On occasion individuals will be required to visit a client site. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist and reach. The position is not subject to occupational and safety risks.
