Environmental Scientist (Cannabis Program)

General Description
Performs a full range of tasks focusing on the scientific analysis and investigatory fieldwork related to the registration, sales, and use of pesticides, including its use on cannabis. Conducts multidisciplinary product compliance inspections and investigations at manufacturing facilities, pesticide dealers, retail locations, ports, wholesale distribution centers and on-line as it relates to cannabis cultivation. Collects pesticide product samples used in the cultivation of cannabis. Evaluates levels of compliance; identifies trends and anomalies; develops and recommends means to improve compliance and measures the success of enforcement efforts throughout the marketplace.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Possession of a bachelor's or advanced degree with a major in a biological, chemical, physical, or environmental science, soil science, water science, hydrology, agronomy, natural resource science, environmental or public health, physical geography, or a closely related scientific discipline. (Admission to a masters or doctoral degree program as in the above scientific discipline shall be considered to meet these education qualifications.)
