Assistant to the Executive Director
Artists for World Peace, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization now in its 17th year, is located at 27 Washington Street in Middletown. AFWP collaborates with artists on its variety of humanitarian projects. AFWP is seeking an intern to train this fall and work this spring.
This college student intern should be skilled with outreach and organization. Arts administration experience would be helpful. Basic and daily responsibilities include spreadsheeting, constructing emails, phone calls, and research. The majority of work will take place in our office in the deKoven House on the end of Washington Street. The intern will be working closely with the Executive Director. The position will include helping coordinate humanitarian projects both in the U.S. and Tanzania, as well as working on art and theatre events in New York City and Connecticut. The hours are flexible. The internship pays $11.00/hour for 10 hours per week. Skills needed are experience with Google Drive, Photoshop, Excel spreadsheets, and good writing skills—photography is helpful but not necessary.
The intern will be coordinating the planning behind a variety of projects that include our yearly free eye clinics, a fundraiser on Broadway, and our traveling PEACE WALL exhibition.
