Verizon Connect – Software Engineer

What you’ll be doing...
Location(s): Alpharetta, GA

At Verizon Connect, you’ll work in a dynamic group of software engineers that build state-of-the-art products to run a fast-growing enterprise and focus on developing next-generation Telematics, data science, and automotive proof of concepts.
In this role, you may have the opportunity to:
  • Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of Verizon Connect business products.
  • Analyze data and create new applications to develop and illustrate new use cases.
  • Create new designs and architectures for enhancing business processes.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies.
  • Write client-side and server-side code for web-based applications.

You’ll need to have:
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD. degree program with a concentration in Computer Science, Computer Networking and Communications, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related major with an expected completion date between December 2019 and June 2020.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
Even better if you have:
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, communication, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following disciplines or skills: Python, Java, C, C++, C#, HTML, JavaScript, UI development, SAS, R, Hadoop, Android or iOS programming, Java Perl, AWS, Eclipse, SQL, NoSQL, MATLAB, Node.js, Oracle, Linux or Windows, .NET MVC, OBDII, Security Administration, OP Telephony and SIP, messaging services like Kafka, ActiveMQ or RabbitMQ, integration methodologies and tools such as SOAP and REST, understanding of object-oriented design principles, or configuration management tools.
