Industrial Engineer

Position Responsibilities

Studies company functions to improve computer-based business applications for the most cost-effective use of money, materials, equipment and people.

Utilizes financial experience and training together to understand the business and its environment

Leads or participates in initiatives designed to better understand the company’s revenues and costs, analyze staffing, cost allocations, product trends and development expenses.

Analyzes financial and business data and identify root causes of problem areas. Presents findings to internal clients with recommended next steps for action when necessary.

Acts as a liaison between company divisions or departments and the Information Technology Department.

Models and analyzes business process flows.

Implement SAP standard content where possible to satisfy Business requirements or enhance/customize where necessary.

Proactively and effectively communicate potential data problems, recommended solutions and progress.


Required Education and Skills
 B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering or related manufacturing experience with a degree in Accounting or Information Technology. 
Superior skills in MS Office, MS Access, familiarity with SAP and programming skills.
Must be proactive, personable, flexible, and eager to enhance knowledge and skills through on-going education and development.
Must have ability to think and communicate ideas logically.
Professional ability to apply education and knowledge of technical and statistical methods and techniques to sufficiently render original and ingenious advice, service or judgement involving analysis, recommendations, and development of division wide continuous improvement projects.
Committed to high standards of integrity, including respect and value for individual team member’s unique talents, skills, and individual qualities.
Must be able to work independently, as well as in project team environment.


Typical Physical Demands:  
Must be able to work a minimum of 8 hours per day on a regular basis. May require additional hours of work, as required. 
Requires full range of body motion to include: lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, stooping, and squatting.
Position requires frequent walking and/or standing on concrete floor while wearing steel-toed shoes. May walk up to two (2) miles per shift while performing essential duties.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
May require unassisted lifting of a variety of objects from various positions, which range in weight from 5 to 50 pounds with an average weight of 34-37 pounds.
Utilizes a variety of hand positions such as turning and twisting.
Since the manufacturing plant operates around-the-clock, may often work late shifts and may be called at any hour to deal with emergencies. This could mean going to the plant to resolve the problem, regardless of the hour, and staying until the situation is under control.
Dealing with production workers as well as supervisors when working under the pressure of production deadlines or emergency situations can be stressful.

Typical Working Conditions: 
Time is divided between an indoor office environment and the manufacturing area of the facility. 
The office environment is typically temperature controlled and clean, with normal air contaminants, such as dust, typically found in an office environment.
The manufacturing environment has regular exposure to loud and prolonged noise.
Regular exposure to hot temperatures of 95º F to 110º F in the summer due to the combination of the actual outside temperature and heat from the processes inside the facility. Employees are also exposed to cold temperatures, which is dependent on the actual outside temperature.
w While in the manufacturing area, employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields and steel toed work shoes.
