Entry Level Engineering Opportunity

ob Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for development and success of self-directed work teams. The work team is responsible for the efficient operation of the warehouse area including safety, quality, service, GMP compliance, productivity, and cost. The Supervisor must be able to manage and coach a multi-skilled, multi-level, multi-shift, diverse workforce to achieve business results.

Essential Functions
  • Works with teams and peers to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements.
  • Promotes and enforces safe working habits.
  • Works with teams to ensure a high degree of cleanliness is maintained in work areas and common areas at all times.
  • Promotes team concept with focus on continuous improvement.
  • Efficiently schedules equipment, manpower, and inventory requirements for the movement of material to optimize quality, service, and cost.
  • Monitors operational SOP's and enforces compliance.
  • Effectively communicates with other departments to ensure all service level agreements are being met. Investigates and resolves any disruptions to packaging and processing.
  • Investigates, resolves, and implements corrective preventive measures for manifest and location accuracy errors.
  • Develops and implements strategies to improve the operation.
  • Initiates and completes projects and assignments in a timely manner.
  • Facilitates and monitors warehouse operator training.
  • Coordinates shipping to support Outside Vendors and International Locations.

People Management
  • Develops and maintains an effective, high morale, highly engaged work force.
  • Expand the application of total employee involvement processes including work redesign, empowerment, and quality and productivity improvement teams consistent with Avon principles and values.
  • Pursue employee development through training, empowerment, and recognition utilizing the Performance Management Process.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to hourly Associates to further their development in current role.
  • Works with team to set SMART goals, objectives and KPIs in accordance with the organization's goals.
  • Responsible for staff management including hiring, training, coaching and development, recognition, progressive discipline up to and including termination.
  • Communicates frequently and timely required information to all hourly Associates in an effective matter.
  • Directly manages non-exempt staff following Avon's values, principles and policies.

Transformation Management
  • Demonstrates creative cost saving approaches to completing and improving tasks and processes.
  • Have a continuous improvement process focus to drive innovative thinking and movement of our quality and service to the Representatives. Be the leader and driver for such activities. Ensure all projects as such are completed on time.

Compliance Management
  • Enforces operating procedures and systems to meet safety, quality, service, and regulatory compliance requirements of internal and external customers, and regulatory agencies, including, OSHA, FDA, and DOT.
  • Ensures safety and GMP compliance.
  • Assures all SOX internal control requirements are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Experiences
  • Bachelor's degree; preferably in a technical field i.e. engineering or science field.
  • Supply Chain/Quality related certifications are a plus.
  • Experience managing 10 or more associates preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate, make independent decisions, lead change and be assertive about taking responsibility.
  • Must be able to deliver strong schedule execution and show sustainable improvement in KPIs and have the ability to work effectively in a team environment a plus.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and effective listening skills.
  • Ability to lead/influence others in the development and implementation of business objectives.
  • Ability to analyze data and have operational understanding to identify, prevent, and solve problems and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and take on multiple projects at one time.
  • Must be able to work across shifts/must be able to work weekends when required.
