Operations Intern
POSITION SUMMARY: : Land O’Frost has an internship opportunity for a talented, self-motivated individual for a summer internship that will support the operations team. The Operations Intern will complete a variety of assignments per direction of plant management and assist in the coordination of various initiatives covering all aspects of the operation. Activities include production supervision, continuous improvement projects, yield studies, training, production dashboards/metrics, etc.
This is a paid, project based internship with housing assistance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting in the development of production standards and rates
- Championing various projects of various scope and magnitude as assigned by plant steering team
- Perform process audits and implement corrective actions to findings.
- Perform time studies to verify work standards are met.
- Assist in different areas of the facility with supervisors to help employees achieve goals by solving engineering problems in the manufacturing areas.
- Identify and create standard documents throughout the facility for the implementation of change.
- Develop goals and an action plan with standard work to achieve the desired results.
- Assist Production Supervisors with achieving strategic plant goals by implementing better methods that improve process capability.
- Complete a final project based on some or all of the above responsibilities.
- Taking on supervisory duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Junior or Senior actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Production/Operations Management, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Full time availability from May to August
- Interest in Food Industry
- Lean and operations management courses are helpful and preferred.
