Graduate Student Museum Installer
Graduate Museum Installers at MAAM are are vital members of the museum team, ensuring the safety of exhibited artwork through careful installation and maintenance of exhibitions. Highly motivated students enrolled in MassArt’s graduate program are invited to apply. Graduate Museum Installers receive ongoing training in professional art handling and installation techniques and gain experience toward potential museum and gallery careers.
Graduate Museum Installers work throughout the year, and may continue in this position until graduation. They are supervised directly by the Chief Preparator.
Open to MassArt graduate students with a preferred minimum of one to two years of installation experience. Successful candidates for this position are self-motivated, responsible, reliable, team-oriented, and willing to continually learn.
This is a paid and work study eligible position.
Duties may include:
- Assist in the installation, deinstallation, and maintenance of gallery exhibitions
- Assist with special events, including event setup, tech support, and breakdown
- Assist with special projects as assigned
- Mentor, orient, and help train newly hired Museum Installers
- Assist Chief Preparator with administrative tasks
