Museum Installer
Museum Installers at MAAM are vital members of the museum team, ensuring the safety of exhibited artwork through careful installation and maintenance of exhibitions. Museum Installers receive ongoing training in professional art handling and installation techniques and gain experience toward potential museum and gallery careers.
Museum Installer schedules are variable and follow the installation schedule of MAAM. Work opportunities are offered throughout the year. Successful candidates for this position are self-motivated, responsible, reliable, team-oriented, and willing to continually learn.
Museum Installers are supervised by the Chief Preparator of MAAM.
This is a paid position, open to all MassArt undergraduate students, including work study eligible.
Duties include:
- Assist in the installation, deinstallation, and maintenance of gallery exhibitions
- Assist with special events, including event setup, tech support, and breakdown
- Assist with special projects as assigned
Expectations:
