IT Support Consultant

Come join our growing IT consulting team! We are doing exciting and challenging
work for our clients in the greater Boston Area and need to hire a smart,
capable, and motivated IT Support Consultant to help with the day-to-day
technical support of assigned clients.
In this role, you will be in a customer facing position at client sites
providing break/fix support, application tutorials, as well as technical
Q&A. You will work closely with an IT Manager and network/server engineer
to maintain the technical health of your clients.
This opportunity will provide exposure to a wide variety of technical
environments and challenges through our work with a diverse group of growing
businesses and non-profit organizations including high technology and internet
startups, law firms, philanthropic organizations, charter schools, social
service organizations, along with other professional service companies. You
will be joining a team of respected IT professionals known for their
combination of personality, obsession for problem solving, great communication
skills, and the desire to help clients and team members succeed.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
-Provide first level technical support to your assigned clients, both on-site
and remotely
-Handle the creation and maintenance of all IT accounts, including Active
Directory, MS Exchange, Gmail, etc.
-Responsible for new PC setups, virus removal, software updates, and hardware
incidents.
-Operating system support for Windows XP/Vista/7 and Mac OS X
-Mobile device support for iPhone, iPad, Android, and Blackberry OS
-Participate in monthly meeting with entire technical team to discuss new
technologies, case studies,
roadblocks, and outstanding incidents
-Effectively communicate technical issues, ticket flows, and project execution
with client manager and
Network/Server engineer
-Contribute findings and troubleshooting documentation to knowledge portal
-Update client documentation with hardware information, password changes, etc.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
-Proven ability to effectively interact with end-users (lay persons) in
identifying and resolving technical issues
-Unique ability to work with both business and technical minded people to plan
and execute against project
timelines and deliverables
-An understanding of TCP/IP Networking Protocols and Procedures, all relevant
Windows Workstation
Operating Systems, all relevant Windows Office products
-Some server maintenance experience
-Some experience working with Active Directory users
-A proven adeptness to detail work and demonstrate analytical/research skills
-Prior experience in a technical support role, IT sales, or call center
environment
-A passion for customer service and technology, delivering exceptional support
to end-users
-Ability to multi-task across clients, industries, and technologies, while
maintaining an appropriate level of
professionalism and composure
-4 year degree
-2 years in a customer facing, technical support role
-Reliable vehicle, and the ability to travel between client sites in the
Greater Boston area
