Leadership Initiatives
The Leadership Programs Intern will support the work of the following Victory Institute Leadership Programs:
Main Fall/Summer/Spring Programs:
- Candidate & Campaign Trainings and Leadership Summits
- Our intensive four-day Candidate & Campaign Trainings provide comprehensive, non-partisan best practices to present and future LGBTQ candidates, campaign staff and community leaders.
- Our one-day intensive Leadership Summits help participants develop the skills necessary to begin or advance a career in public service.
- International Program
- The Institute is partnering with organizations abroad to provide training for openly LGBTQ leaders who want to run for office. The intern will assist in many of the logistical aspects of these trainings.
- Elected Officials & Constituent Engagement
- Other duties as necessary.
Fall Programs:
- International LGBTQ Leaders Conference
- Each year the conference brings together hundreds of LGBTQ officials and other policy makers and offers a unique leadership development and networking experience. The intern will assist in many of the logistical aspects of the conference.
Spring Programs:
- Victory Congressional Internship
- The Congressional Internship brings outstanding LGBTQ college students to Washington, D.C., each semester for an intensive leadership program, including a congressional internship and a structured curriculum to learn about the legislative process and careers in the policy-making process. The intern will help coordinate logistical aspects of this program.
- Conference of LGBTI Political Leaders of the Americas
- The 2019 LGBTI Political Leaders of the Americas Conference – the region’s largest gathering of openly LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex) leaders, public servants and allies.
