In this uniquely cross-disciplined rotation program offered by Western Digital, Associates have the opportunity to rotate through 3 roles within the broader Finance & Accounting organization. Each rotation term will be approximately 12 months. Upon completion of the 3-year program, Associates will join one of the aforementioned organizations on a full-time basis, selection for which is determined by an internal recruiting process, which contemplates Associate preference and the needs of the overall company. Specific rotation opportunities within the program include:
- Business Finance - Support business units or functional areas in budgeting, forecasting and analysis of results for revenue, cost of sales, and expenses.
- FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) - Develop company-wide financial plans, including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow. Time horizon can be quarterly targets, annual plan, and strategic long-range plan. Analyze and forecast revenue and margins.
- Manufacturing Finance - Work with the Supply Chain organization and/or business units to analyze results and improve performance. Examples include optimizing inventory levels and analyzing cost of sales variances.
- Treasury - Manage and improve the company's banking structure, cash investment policy and practices, foreign currency exposure, and capital structure. Associates in this group will focus on process development and improvement. Projects may involve implementation of information systems to automate or otherwise improve processes. Analyze financial models.
- Accounting – Prepare financial statements and tax documents, analyze financial information, and strategic planning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- This position requires an MBA degree. Candidates must currently be enrolled in an MBA program and graduating between December 2019 and June 2020.
- Must have 3-4 years of applicable experience.
- The ideal candidate is a driven self-starter with a strong financial acumen and analytical mindset, balanced with the ability to think strategically.
- A successful candidate should also have the following:
- Personal initiative and drive for results; self-awareness to realistically appraise own strengths and weaknesses and focus on self-development.
- Ability to work both independently and in large, cross-functional team settings; ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with others who may have ongoing competing priorities and viewpoints, including company employees in other countries.
- Ability to maintain effective performance and adept at multi-tasking in a business environment that is fast-paced, constantly changing and where situations are sometimes ambiguous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and defend decisions to others, including senior management; ability to create effective presentations for all levels of an organization, including senior management and the board.
The role is located in Milpitas, California or San Jose, California.
