Editing Intern For Feature-Length Documentary Film

Internship will entail:
Organizing footage as well as some basic editing for a feature-length documentary. This will be done through the use of Adobe Premiere Teams, and a license will be provided for this.

Intern will gain experience working with directors as an editor, specifically taking notes from directors, and how to manage footage for a feature film.

Intern will receive mentorship from professional directors on the independent & commercial film world in Chicago.

Intern will also get a credit on an independent feature film and be able to list it in their portfolio or resume.

Qualifications:
  • Must have Adobe Premiere Pro experience, and know how to use the latest version.
  • Must have either taken at least one editing class or have editing experience that can be shown via links or through a description of what the experience was.
  • Must have weekly access to a computer that can run the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro (we will provide the license). Computer needs to be powerful enough to handle 10 bit 1080p footage.
  • Must be comfortable signing a Non Disclosure Agreement, as this film is a work in progress.
  • Must be able to meet weekly - time & place to be decided upon the convenience of the intern & directors.
  • Ideally, this is for someone who is pursuing editing as a career, however, this is not necessary. This internship is also ideal for someone wanting to explore other areas of post production and distribution on a feature.

Specifications:
Intern will need to use their personal computer to complete edits. A computer will not be provided.
Hard Drives will be provided for the time of the internship, solely to store footage & files pertaining to the film on, and will be returned to us at the end of the internship.

We will provide a license for Adobe Premiere Pro using Adobe Teams which will enable Intern to edit within the project file we are currently using and share changes digitally - no need to email or physically share project files or changes. This makes it easy for Intern to work on the editing tasks on their own time.

Location of internship:
Intern will complete tasks on their own time wherever they have access to a computer. Weekly meetings will take place at a coffee shop, campus lounge, or other neutral meeting space most convenient to Intern & Directors .

Application instructions:
