Position Description: Education Intern
Overview
CASSE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of advancing the steady state economy, with stabilized population and consumption, as a policy goal with widespread public support.
The Education Intern will primarily assist with K-12 steady-state economics curriculum development and implementation in the D.C. and Northern Virginia region. In addition to the CASSE staff, this may include working with teachers, students, and curriculum specialists. This internship is unpaid for 20-40 hours/week (or as appropriate for university internship credits) and only offered to currently enrolled college students.
This position has potential for long-term hire at the completion of the internship.
Skills and Experience
All candidates should have at least three of the following: Enthusiasm for visiting schools, enjoyment working with people, strong research capability, good attention to detail in the written English language, knowledge of curriculum development in primary and secondary schooling, design and media skills, public speaking skills, strong background in social sciences, natural sciences and/ or sustainability.
Student with interest in sustainability preferred.
Supervision and Logistics
Supervision: The Education is supervised by the Projects Manager. Given instructions and guidance, the Education Intern is expected to be knowledgeable and self-motivated. The Executive Director prioritizes duties as needed and has final discretion on CASSE operations.

Term of Internship: Term of internship is somewhat negotiable but will generally follow academic semester for start and end dates. We are also seeking interns for the summer months.
