Position Description: Editorial Intern

Overview
CASSE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of advancing the steady state economy, with stabilized population and consumption, as a policy goal with widespread public support.

The Editorial Intern will provide editorial suggestions for book manuscripts and write reviews. The Intern will also edit and publish webpages and blog articles. This internship is unpaid for 20-40 hours/week (or as appropriate for university internship credits) and only offered to currently enrolled college students.

This position has strong potential for employment at the completion of the internship.

Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate would have excellent knowledge of English composition. This knowledge would be supported by a required technical ability with Microsoft track changes. Additional experience with magazine and book layout software (InDesign) desirable, but not required. Knowledge should be demonstrated on the resume with relevant academic and/or work experience.

Student with interest in sustainability preferred.

Supervision and Logistics
Supervision: The Editorial Intern is supervised by the Administrative Director and the Managing Editor. Given instructions and guidance, the Editorial Intern is expected to be knowledgeable and self-motivated. The Executive Director prioritizes duties as needed and has final discretion on CASSE operations.
Office: 12th Floor, 4601 Fairfax Drive, Arlington, Virginia
Term of Internship: Term of internship is somewhat negotiable but will generally follow academic semester for start and end dates. We are also seeking interns for the summer months.
