Program Overview
International Paper’s Global Supply Chain Organization sponsors a six (6) month Intern program. The first internship semester is from January through the end of June. The second internship semester is from July through the last day of December. Summer internships are also available in some Supply Chain areas. These internships last from May through August.
Interns work in the functional areas of purchasing, transportation, support or logistics. Duties include data collection, process improvement projects, and report design and preparation. In addition to their primary assignments, all interns will have the opportunity to learn about other areas of interest within International Paper.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist Buyers
- Prepare and analyze reports
- Provide feedback from reports to buyers, field operations, suppliers and management
- Maintain quality assurance programs by analyzing supplier performance data
- Solicit and evaluate competitive quotes and make recommendations for the award of business
- Interface with manufacturing locations, carriers, suppliers, contractors, internal sales and custom service representatives, other interns, buyers and Supply Chain professionals
Qualifications
- Working toward Bachelor’s degree (Business, Supply Chain, Logistics or Engineering related fields)
- Junior or Senior
- GPA 3.0 or higher
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel

Compensation
International Paper offers a competitive salary paid bi-weekly and a one-time relocation lump-sum for Interns coming from out of state locations.
