What you'll do:
- Run Sum's Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts, and other accounts as needed, leading to increase in followers, engagement, and site referrals
- Seek out and engage with all new vendors and clients for promotional content and marketing opportunities
- Monitor trending social and search topics and ensure our accounts, content, and posts are relevant to the conversation
- Draft and review copy for digital media platforms when necessary
- Draft statements and memos for advertising and social media platforms when necessary
- Maintain Sum's website when necessary
What you'll bring:
- Proven track record running social for major media outlets or brands
- Incredible attention to detail and intolerance for errors
- Creative writer able to execute social posts quickly under pressure
- Extensive knowledge of mainstream social channels: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
- An ability to work both effectively and creatively, and also a self-motivator
- Enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in a related field
- Interest in mobile technology a plus
- Graphic design or digital media design skill set a plus
The Social Media & Digital Marketing Intern's focus is to increase traffic to the site, increase loyalty, engage new customers, and to continuously build out the Sum brand. Although you'll work remotely, you'll be working very closely with our Digital Strategist in the US, with frequent check-in's and teleconferencing.
This position will start at 10-15 hours per week with the opportunity to take on more, as dictated by our staff needs and be paid at an hourly rate. An ability and willingness to work some holidays and weekends is a plus. The internship will span until the end of the year, with full time hours during the summer, and an opportunity to continue on afterwards depending on performance and need. (this is all dependent upon prior performance)
