Accounting Intern
Position summary
As a participant in the JAARS six-month Accounting Internship program, you will gain real world experience and exposure to not-for-profit accounting, while making a meaningful contribution to making Bible translation possible.
The paid internship runs from June 3 through December 20, 2019 and will report directly to the CFO. Housing and weekday lunches will be offered.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
- Collaborate as part of the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Implementation team with migration to new financial system including:
- Perform system testing
- Write procedures and documentation necessary for successful implementation of the system
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
- Recommend process improvements while maintaining accounting controls
- Back up Accounting staff
- Assist the CFO with special projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree candidate in their senior year or above
- Accounting major preferred
- Ability to work 40 hours per week on the JAARS campus in Waxhaw, NC
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as interaction with management at all levels is required
