Help us Stuff the Bus!
The Stuff the Bus Foundation of Southern Kentucky is a 501(C) Non-Profit Group that is looking for intern assistance for the spring 2020 semester.

We've spent 14 years providing students in southcentral Kentucky the supplies needed to enter their first day of school on a level playing field. We recently earned status as a non-profit foundation, which now allows us to help children and families year-round and by giving more than just crayons. This is a unique and flexible opportunity for a driven, community-minded individual who wants to not only change the lives of students, families, and teachers in southern Kentucky, but also work with high-profile businesses, media outlets, and members of the community. Form relationships with other non-profit entities and their volunteers as you help us determine where Stuff the Bus should be involved.

We are seeking a student who has a passion for event planning, fundraising, social media marketing, public relations, and/or grant writing. We need a creative mind who isn't afraid of thinking a little differently about promotions and fundraising and is willing to take on new challenges. The ideal candidate would be comfortable taking initiative by seeking out opportunities where Stuff the Bus needs to be involved and then taking the lead in setting up the event and coordinating volunteers from the STB Foundation Board.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Research events in southern Kentucky where Stuff the Bus should be involved and inform Board of events
  • Coordinate event details with venues, including ensuring registration paperwork and fees are submitted in a timely manner
  • Coordinate advertising, media relations, and social media marketing activities for specific events and initiatives
  • Manage and oversee activities day-of event, including set-up and tear-down, securing additional volunteers, managing any day-of activities, and solving problems as they arise
  • Strong verbal communication skills to be able to tell the story of Stuff the Bus
  • Demonstrate creativity with ideas to help promote and raise funds for the Stuff the Bus Foundation
