Shipping & Bulk Loading Engineering Intern
Titan America, Inc. has an Intern position for a Mechanical Engineering student in our Pennsuco Cement Division located in Medley, Florida.
This wage non-exempt position will be assigned to the Cement Division and will report directly to the Load-out Supervisor. The Shipping and Bulk Loading Engineering Intern will be responsible for assisting the shipping and bulk loading department achieve equipment production and reliability targets.
General (objectives) responsibilities:
Working on a 6 months, time based contract, to help shipping and bulk loading department achieve equipment production and reliability targets.
Job position requirements:
- Minimum engineering level (Electrical or Mechanical).
- Machinery efficiency improvement knowledge will be consider favorably
- Preventive, predictive, proactive maintenance knowledge preferred.
- Computer literacy (Windows Office knowledge would be considered as favorable).
- Necessary skills:
- Safety behavior.
- Flexibility and adaptability to team working.
- Dedication.
- Scope for the job position:
- Cleaning up DataStream from all the junk work orders (and open work orders that have closing issues).
- Upload employee’s credentials to DataStream in order to enable planners/ scheduler using scheduling tool.
- Create check points on 5th level equipment to enable data feed to DataStream based on the SIR inspections.
- Upload specific inspection activities for 5th level equipment inside DataStream for the SIS inspections, based on the available OEM instructions and recommendations.
- Upload prepared job plans to DataStream.
- Working on other general assignments to help Methods department operations.
- In- house DataStream training will be provided.
- This intern will report to Mike Tarulli, Packhouse Supervisor and Engineer.
- Student Learning Outcomes:
- Industrial packaging machine operation and maintenance (focus on preventing failures and increasing reliability)
- Student will be expected to learn the machine by using the manual and discussing with the field personnel
- Troubleshoot the machine problems, contact the OEM (machine original manufacturer) for support
- Pneumatic systems troubleshooting concentrating on air quality, pneumatic valves, pneumatic pistons.
- Student will be expected to learn the pneumatic network from beginning to the end
- Troubleshoot problems with operator and supervisor
- FIFO (First in- First out) application to an high sales volume warehouse
