JCU: Peer Health Advocate

John Carroll University Peer Health Advocates are students committed to promoting healthy choices and lifestyles through educating and empowering themselves and their peers on a variety of health-related topics. By providing innovative, creative, and educational programming, outreach, and one-on-one interaction opportunities. Peer Health Advocates will serve as a resource, referral agent, and role model for their peers.

Meetings are held on Tuesday nights at 7pm. There will also be 2 all day trainings in September and January. Exact Dates TBD.

  • What classes have you taken and/or what experiences have you had that may be relevant to being a Peer Health Advocate?
  • What conflicts or challenges do you foresee in being a Peer Health Advocate?
  • What are the three health and wellness topics interest you the most?
  • What previous facilitation and presentation experience do you have?


Selected candidates will be interviewed in the Health Center. The interviews will last about a half hour and you will need to prepare a 5-10 minute presentation on a health topic of your choosing. You will be given more details if you are selected for an interview.
