Intern - Marketing & Product Development

Job Summary
 
The Marketing & Product Development Intern will work directly with communications and marketing staff to provide support to help advance EDA’s marketing, communications and product development initiatives.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 
  1. Supports Marketing & Product Officer with developing, preparing or updating marketing collateral and brochures, advertisements, PowerPoint presentations, e-newsletters, media lists and email marketing campaigns. 
  2. General Internet-based market research to help inform and advance EDA product offerings.
3.    Preparation of routine public information activity reports in response to stakeholder requests.
4.    Basic updates to EDA website to be in compliance with public information requirements.
5.    Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.
 
Required Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat); Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Outlook); and social media tools (Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogging). Proficiency in Excel is a plus.
  • Experience with using Internet to independently research and locate information, sometimes with minimal direction. Also has ability to summarize findings. Strong writer with excellent communication and editing skills.
·        Ability to prioritize workload, must be highly organized, detail-oriented, handle various tasks simultaneously and work independently within limited time constraints.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively and diplomatically with business professionals and EDA staff.
  • Experience working within a website content management system. HTML experience not required, but is a plus.

Required Qualifications
 
Education and Experience Requirements
·        Enrollment in an accredited degree program related to marketing, communications, public relations or a similar combination of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills were acquired.
 
Physical Demands
·        Minimal
·        Ability to work outside normal business hours, as needed
 
Travel
·        As necessary to events, meetings, businesses, etc.
 
Certificates and Licenses Required
·        Valid driver’s license
