Job description
Paperleap is looking for a full-stack web developer who is familiar with both server-side programming using PHP and MySQL and front-end design and development with HTML, CSS, and Javascript, for developing a web-based application for creating and managing internship opportunities for students.
Students with Informatics or Computer Science background are welcome to apply. Proficiency with the programming languages and technologies mentioned above is required. Knowledge of jQuery, strong programming background (e.g., Object Oriented Programming in Python or C), and previous experience with web projects are a plus, especially in relation to mobile projects, and to the use of JSON as a data exchange format.

Paperleap is developing a project – in the context of the Entrepreneurship Faculty Fellows at Fort Hays State University – that will help students increase their internship opportunities by enabling companies to sponsor internships and by matching them with students’ skills. The intern will help the company achieve its business goals by participating in the development of the platform by implementing specific components that will be discussed with the intern.

The intern will participate to the design of the platform, and she/he will receive short-term assignments in relation to its implementation or maintenance.

The platform utilizes a proprietary high-performance server-side framework: the intern will receive training to be able to use the framework, and she/he will receive ongoing supervision and training on the individual technologies utilized, such as, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, MongoDB, and CSS.
