Chicago Beyond - Summer Strategy Associate Intern (2019)
Position Details
Chicago Beyond is looking for a Summer Strategy Associate to help solve some challenging problems. The Summer Strategy Associate will be expected to own several critical projects for the organization. These projects will vary in nature, but they all have one thing in common – successful completion of the project will enable Chicago Beyond to achieve the impact it is striving to have.
A Summer Strategy Associate may work on one or multiple of the following projects:
· Complete a due diligence on a potential non-profit investment
· Provide strategy support for an existing non-profit investment
· Evaluate current Chicago Beyond practices and identity potential improvement
· Identify and drive improvements in Chicago Beyond’s digital strategy
· Create thought leadership pieces in various media (e.g., written article, video, podcast) based on qualitative and quantitative data and narratives from Chicago Beyond’s investment partners
· Co-create innovative solutions to address a specific problem (e.g., housing instability) with community leaders
Summer Strategy Associates should expect to conduct research, complete interviews, collect data, perform financial modeling and analyses, and more. The Summer Associate will also create PowerPoint presentations and / or written reports that communicate key project findings and recommendations to various audiences.
Position Requirements

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong record of leadership and collaboration
- An aptitude for analytics and quantitative analysis
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
- Record of strong academic performance
