Boston 1-Day Technology Student Trek
Boston 1-Day Student Tech Trek
Looking for a fun and inspiring way to spend part of your spring break? The Center for Careers and Internships and Middlebury Professional Networks are partnering to provide a student 'Tech Trek' in Boston, MA on Friday, March 29th.
The objective is to introduce you to alumni working in all areas within tech companies - such as engineering, product management, advertising, marketing, and new ventures - and expose you to real-world professional experiences that will enable you to apply your liberal arts learning while informing your career exploration and other post-graduate planning.
We will spend the day visiting with alumni at Google (one of the Big Four tech companies), Wayfair (a leader in home goods e-commerce), and Cogo Labs (a startup accelerator), followed by a networking reception in the evening.
This trip is open to all students, but preference will be given to non-seniors as the emphasis is on exploration. Submitting an application to participate indicates a commitment to participate fully and attend all events.
Accommodations and transportation to and within Boston are the responsibility of each student.
(For financial assistance, you may want to consider applying for an Opportunity Grant.)
Application Process:
Apply via Handshake with a resume and cover letter (addressed to CCI) that includes:
- Your name, class year, major, and a faculty reference (just name and department) clearly visible at the top of the page.
- What you believe you would learn from this experience and why this trip would be valuable to you?
- How it relates to courses you have taken and activities in which you are involved?
- How it might impact your post Middlebury plans?
If selected, you will be asked to participate in a short preparatory meeting before the break.
Deadline is Sunday February 24th at 11:55 pm. We aim to have a decision by March 1st, and if accepted, we will need your commitment by March 8th. Please contact CCI Advisor Mary Lothrop with any questions: mlothrop@middlebury.edu
