Job Shadow in Information Technology and Education (Tucson, AZ)

The mission of the Tucson Unified School District, in partnership with parents and the greater community, is to assure each pre-K through 12th grade student receives an engaging, rigorous and comprehensive education.The District is committed to inclusion and non-discrimination in all District activities. The host for this opportunity will be Tracey Rowley, a UA Alumni in Political Science and Education!

Students will learn about the Technology Services department and view the technology support that is provided for the staff. Just about every type of government entity, nonprofit and business has this kind of department. Students will see it all in action!

During the shadow, students may:
  • Tour of the Technology Services department
  • Learn about the technology and support provided for the school district
  • Visit a school to view how technology is used in our typical classroom and school
  • See what the needs are of the staff
  • Meet with district and school staff, and provide support and training

This opportunity would be especially beneficial for any student interested in technology, education, or any related field.

This is part of the UA Job Shadow Program (JSP). The JSP is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to a career field and be mentored by actual professionals. Unless otherwise noted, the experience is one day long and will take place sometime during Spring Break, March 4-8th.
