Career Fair Help- Morning and Afternoon Shifts Available

Assist with morning and/or afternoon setup for the Career Center's 2 Day Career Fair: Gamecocks Get Hired! These fairs are on January 23rd and January 24th. This position is a temporary position that entails one hour of training before the event and five-hour shift work the day(s) of the event. Work one day, work two days, work one shift, or all 4-you choose!

Please Note:
1 hour of training before event + 5 hours shift day of event = 6 hours total (minimum)
The training will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. (If you are not able to attend this meeting, please still apply and we will do our best to schedule an additional training.)
You will be given a USC t-shirt to wear on the day of the event (and to keep).

Job Description:
MORNING SHIFT: will work on Wednesday, January 23 and or Thursday, January 24th from 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Potential Job Duties:
*Setup: 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center (CMCC)
-Load and relocate materials from the CMCC storage room/board room to the Exhibit Hall/Ballroom designated space.
-Place table cloths and alphabetical order signs on the tables.
-Place hand sanitizer on each table.
*Employer Unload: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center
-Familiarize yourself with the layout of the fair.
-Keep a copy of the maps near the door to assist with directing employers.
-Meet employers in the parking lot and welcome them to the fair.
-Assist with loading boxes onto the carts and transporting boxes to the appropriate table.
-Direct employers to the employer parking garage/employer registration area

AFTERNOON SHIFT: Will work on Wednesday, January 23 and or Thursday, January 24th from 11:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Potential Job Duties:  
*Door Greeter:
-Greet students at the designated entrance and direct them downstairs.
-Point out the free head shot photo booth.
*Bag Check: 
-Gather bag tags and sign-in sheet from the job fair supply bin if not already in place in the registration area.
-Have students write their name on the sign-in sheet and place the corresponding number on the tag on their bag.
*EMPLOYER RELOAD: 3:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center
-Utilize the reload sign-in sheet and assist employers with transporting their materials to their cars in the loading area.
-Recommend that employers drop items at their designated loading area, get their car, and return to get their items.
-Gather carts as needed to assist employers during breakdown.
-Fold tablecloths and gather Career Center materials to be transported to the Career Center.
**Other administrative duties and tasks as assigned.**
