
Archeologist
Little Rock District, US Army Corps of Engineers, Regulatory Division is seeking qualified candidates for a developmental GS11/ target GS12 Archeologist position. All candidates must meet the Secretary of the Interiors Professional Qualification Standards for Archeology requirements.
Evaluate applications for Department of the Army permits and modification of permits for activities in waters of the United States; Conducting evaluations of applications for Department of the Army permits, especially in the fields of archeological, historical, and cultural anthropology and environmental studies using accepted professional standards and methods; Ensures compliance with 33 CFR Parts 320 through 332, including Appendix C, which implements Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act relative to the Regulatory Program; Provides technical support locally, regionally, and nationally to Corps elements and other agencies related to archeological, historic, cultural resources, and Regulatory Program matters; Manages Regulatory Program Enforcement processes; and Performs other duties as assigned.
The candidate must possess and maintain a valid state issued motor vehicle driver's license. Additionally, the candidate will have regular and recurring physical activity with exposure to uneven terrain, thick vegetation, impound/saturated soil conditions, and poisonous plants/animals; recurrent exposure to adverse weather conditions.
