Institute for Holocaust, Genocide, and Memory Studies Intern position

About the Institute for Holocaust, Genocide, and Memory Studies:
The Institute for Holocaust, Genocide, and Memory Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is a locus for research and teaching on the Holocaust, genocides, and events of mass violence as well as on the memory and representation of these historical occurrences.
 
Now housed near the center of campus in a graceful 1929 Tudor-style house, with an attached lecture and exhibition hall, the Institute’s principal activities include: teaching and research, conferences and workshops, public events and lectures, and visits to the permanent exhibition. 
 
IHGMS is looking for an intern for fall semester (continuing into the academic year if possible). The intern’s responsibilities will be assisting with administrative duties and working with Institute Director Alon Confino on several research projects.

Required:
•          Self-directed, responsible, and organized
•          Strong written and verbal communication skills
•          Knowledge of Arabic and/or Hebrew is preferred but not required

Location: IHGMS is located on the UMass Amherst campus at 758 North Pleasant St.

Hours: 6-10 hours a week during the semester.

This is a non-paid internship, but is suitable for academic credit.
