Summary
AlbanyCanCode is seeking a Teaching Assistant (TA) for our Front End Web Development (FEWD) course. Students who attend this course will learn the basics of how to code websites including an introduction to HTML/CSS and JavaScript. The course is held at the SUNY Adirondack Wilton Center, every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:45 to 8:45pm, from January 22nd until April 11th.
The Teaching Assistant will:
● Attend classes, interact with students, and provide 1-on-1 instruction in beginner level HTML/CSS & JavaScript
● Identify and help to overcome learning challenges
● Work closely with the instructor to plan in-class exercises
● Assist students in the completion of a final project
Successful applications will have:
● Solid knowledge of beginner level HTML/CSS & JavaScript
● Experience teaching or providing instruction in formal or informal contexts
● Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
● A positive attitude, patience, and growth mindset
About AlbanyCanCode
- We are a small non-profit on a mission to teach people how to code. We build non-traditional pathways into tech careers, especially for people from historically marginalized communities (e.g. women, people of color, and the poor). Our goal is to build a pipeline of talent to fuel the tech sector in the Capital Region, fill the skills gap, and open up new opportunities for tech people and tech businesses.
