Orlando Fringe Graphic Design Intern
Orlando Fringe is looking for a motivated, fun, and creative Graphic Design Intern. This individual will work alongside and learn from the Marketing Coordinator and be given the opportunity to produce marketing collateral for the annual festival. At the end of the program, the Graphic Design “Fringetern” will have finished designs in their portfolio from Orlando's most popular annual event and the nation's oldest performing arts festival of its kind.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with Marketing Coordinator on festival collateral relating to the festival itself or any of the ancillary programs (outdoor stage, Kids Fringe, Fringe Teens, Visual Fringe, etc.)
• Work with Marketing Coordinator on producing advertising material (print and online). Graphic design “Fringeterns” typically are responsible for use in print, such as fliers, posters, brochures, banners, presentations, and possibly videos.
• Create signage and environmental marketing pieces.
• In-office days per week, are negotiable or as needed.
Qualifications:
• Applicants should be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in graphic design, marketing, or related field. Candidates with a passion for the arts industry are preferred but not required.
• Must be looking for either a career in graphic design, marketing, or non-profit arts management, etc.
• Must have a basic understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud with emphasis on Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Applicant must be reliable, friendly, and have good communication and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail is very important.
•Should have experience in Mac and Windows operating systems.
• Should have a strong working knowledge of graphic design software and techniques.
• It is preferred that the “Fringetern” work through the annual festival (May 14-27) to see the fruits of their labor but not required.
• Must be fun and able to take a joke in a very non-traditional atmosphere. Oh, and there may be dogs in the office from time to time so we hope that's okay.
