Engineering Inspector II - Public Works

General Statement of Job: Under general supervision, performs advanced skilled inspection work requiring in depth knowledge of engineering standards and regulations relevant to construction and maintenance of municipal infrastructure. Responsible for inspecting drainage, sewerage, streets, and general engineering projects including the construction, methods, and materials of work performed by contractors and City work crews. Reports to the Superintendent II.
Minimum Training and Experience Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, plus two (2) or more years of paid work experience inspecting or directly supervising the work performed (and materials used) in the installation, rehabilitation, or repair of municipal infrastructures, including: streets, roadways, bridges, sidewalks, drainage systems, and/or subsurface utility lines. Must possess a current, valid Louisiana driver’s license.
NOTE: Possession of an accredited degree, Associate’s or higher, may substitute for one (1) year of the required inspection experience.
Salary Requirements: $18.4986 PER HOUR / 40 HOURS PER WEEK
