Camp Counselors - Washington State - Wenatchee National Forest
Spend the summer living and working under the trees in Washington State’s beautiful Wenatchee-Okanogan National Forest. Camp Zanika Lache a traditional co-ed residential summer camp, located on the shores of Lake Wenatchee, is looking for Cabin Counselors. At Camp Zanika we provided an amazing week long experience for children ages 5-17. Our diverse staff of 40 college aged individuals, from all over the world, come together to make a positive difference in the lives of the campers we serve, creating memories that last a lifetime.
We are hiring dedicated hardworking leaders that can handle the challenging camp environment, take initiative, put kids first, and enjoy being outdoors. Working at Camp Zanika is an amazing opportunity to gain useful skills, meet great people and have fun out of doors. Staff have the opportunity to learn and develop new skills, gain professional job experience, and take part in a comprehensive job training, while being given support and feedback.
Starts June 9 - August 23.
$2,500-$4,500 + Meals and Housing are provided.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for the supervision of campers.
2. Plans, develops, and coordinates program with campers.
3. Guide’s camper's in activities and helps them adjust to camp life and make friends.
4. Assists with program activities and other activities in his/her specific unit.
5. Works with the Unit Director and other staff in improving a specific part of the cabin program planning.
6. Observes and shares with campers: quiet hour, camp kapers, camp meals, camp flag, All camp and other camp activities.
7. Keeps cabin clean and neat.
8. Helps develop and checks health habits (showers, colds, sunburn, etc.). Interprets safety and health regulations to his/her group. Is on the alert for any sign of illness or fatigue, accidents and reports immediately to the Nurse or Medic.
9. Acts as host/hostess for his/her table in the dining room.
10. Assumes responsibility for care of facilities, equipment and supplies.
11. Keeps records and distributes awards to his/her cabin group.
12. Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
13. Participates in unit and camp staff meetings.
14. These are not the only duties to be performed. Duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required.
