Internship Role and Responsibilities
- Assist Community Outreach Program Manager with scheduling, coordinating, conducting and overseeing youth activities at the Outreach Center as which will vary based on the time of year of internship placement: Programming includes Teens Reaching Heights, Homework Help, What’s Cookin’?, Summer Youth Employment, Employment Readiness Program, Enrichment Parties, Summer Reading programs, USDA Summer Meals and Summer Camp Programs.
- Assist with management and maintenance of Outreach Center facility and supplies.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to the provision of programming such as daily charts, monthly statistics, volunteer tracking, etc.
- Participate in job training and professional development activities, when made available
- Read and agree to CAPTAIN’s Youth Protection Policy and adhere to this policy in all interactions with youth.
- If approved by Community Outreach Director, design and lead some program components. For example; Arts and Crafts Activities, Reading Enrichment, Nutrition and Wellness program for teens, etc.
- Other tasks as agreed upon by Intern and Director
NOTE ABOUT HOURS: School Year Available Hours are typically 2pm-7pm on Mondays-Thursdays and 2pm-5pm on Fridays. Closed on School Holidays. Summer Available Hours are typically 7:30am-3pm Monday- Thursday and 7:30am-1pm Fridays.
