Arts Administration Internship
INTERNSHIP – ARTS ADMINISTRATION
SCHOOL YEAR 2018-19: Internships available on a term/semester basis. Must be available for at least 20 hours per week. Additional hours available as may be required to fulfill credit requirements. Internships are unpaid.
OPERA SARATOGA is seeking highly motivated interns for the 2018-19 school year to work interdepartmentally, supervised by the Development and Patron Services Manager. Candidates should be able to maintain a professional attitude in the midst of a busy schedule, balancing multiple responsibilities. Interns are unpaid, but are provided with credit based on the parameters of their academic program. Internships may be customized based on students’ specific areas of interest.
MARKETING
-Assist with house-duties and ticket services during public events and performances
-Take phone orders for tickets, and process incoming mail orders
-Assist tracking and reporting for ticket sales
-Graphic design of concert programs and additional community engagement materials
DEVELOPMENT / FUNDRAISING
-Foundation/Corporate Research; assisting Development and Patron Services Manager by pulling information from prospective funder websites.
-Assist in the preparation of solicitation mailings; folding, stuffing, sealing etc.
-Basic data entry in Donor Perfect (change of addresses, updating emails etc.)
-Assist with set up and staffing of cultivation events
PATRON SERVICES
-Welcome guests at Opera Saratoga Events and Performances
-Sell merchandise (t-shirts, posters etc.) at performances, track and report sales
-Assist guests with sign-in at free events utilizing Opera Saratoga’s iPad event registration technology
GENERAL COMPANY MANAGEMENT
-Gather information about Saratoga Springs for Artist Welcome Packages and assist in assembly and distribution
-Assist Director of Administration with logistics related to artist housing and travel
REQUIRED SKILLS
-Proficient in Word, Excel (Mac Operating System)
-Experience with Photoshop preferred
-High attention to detail and very organized
-Excellent writing skills
-Clear and articulate verbal skills
