FastForward U Student Ambassador
Overview: FastForward U (FFU) is seeking to hire multiple JHU full-time students in order to help support our mission of promoting entrepreneurship and innovation among students at Johns Hopkins. As we continue to scale up this program, having students in this role will be essential to growing and promoting the resources offered by FFU. Interested students should have a passion for entrepreneurship, experience with event execution, be open to learning new skills, and flexible with the types of tasks they carry out. Experience as an entrepreneur is not required.
Responsibilities:
- Assist FFU staff in executing events on an as need/as scheduled basis
- Staff FFU’s Homewood student innovation hub on night per week from 5 pm to 9 pm
- Promote events through various channels including social media (on personal and official accounts), flyering, tabling, presenting to student groups, etc.
- Attend meetings and events of partner organizations related to entrepreneurship in order to stay abreast of happenings in the JHU entrepreneurial community
- Commit one night weekly staffing FastForward U Homewood from 5 pm to 9 pm and up to 8 hours per week to this position (actual amount of hours in a given week will vary)
Preferred Traits & Skills:
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Attention to detail
- Friendly, engaging personality
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Graphic/web design, coding, videography, or other skills a plus but not required
- Due to federal export controls, only US citizens can be employed in these positions
