Student Researcher

About the Position:

Student Researcher (intern) - Paid

Duration: June 18, 2018 (now) - September 20th*
*opportunity to extend position may arise
The Binary Research institute is looking for a student researcher  to assist gain first-hand research experience analyzing, reviewing, and critiquing peer-reviewed journals and articles. 

Strong writing abilities are preferred but not necessarily a requirement, as those can be developed.
However, an intuitive comprehension for article structure and organized thinking in relation to data, analysis, and interpretation is a requirement.

The ideal candidate would have:
  • B.S. degree or pursing in astronomy or astrophysics, or a related field;
  • Experience with research methods 
  • comfortable interpreting raw data
  • comfortable working in a fast pace environment
  • comfortable working in an office setting

This position is to assist in the research of a possible relationship or connection between our solar system and other binary star systems in close proximity; exoplanets and extrasolar objects will also be investigated.

Students whom are currently in the upperclassman-stage of their degree pursuit are strongly encouraged to apply.

All students are highly encouraged to obtain  a professor recommendation for your related field of study to submit in conjunction with their resume and cover letter.

  • do not "fluff" this; short, sweet, and to the point is better than superfluous information
This a full-time, paid position; flexible hours. Pay is subject to increase depending on background in related field.
