Intern, Membership Data
The summer intern will update critical membership data, support the team in multiple, high-visibility business development projects, develop strong research, communication, and writing skills, and learn how to communicate effectively with employees across professional levels. This internship is a training ground for students who want to learn the trade association business model, understand our revenue-generation process, and work on day-to-day business operations.
Essential Duties of Position
Data Collection and Application
Manufactured Products:
Employ Internet search skills, cross referencing the products for each member currently listed in our customer relationship manager (CRM) to the manufactured products listed on the member’s website
Establish contact with the member company to obtain that information if not readily available online
Member Contacts and Locations:
Run reports for each member, print and mail to the appropriate contact, including instructions for how to read the report and update the data
Update the data accordingly
Points of Contact (POC):
Work with the vice president of business development to determine who at each member company should serve as the primary POC for the association and assist in updating this information in the CRM
Professional Development
Experience first-hand how a multi-million-dollar association handles membership retention and develops prospects
Attend department meetings and provide input into improved system processes where appropriate
Work closely with association executives and member-company staff to achieve internship goals

Working toward a four-year bachelor’s degree, preferably in the areas of communications, marketing, or business administration.
Experience working with customer relationship management software and have basic knowledge of the medical devices and diagnostics industry.
