Summer Marketing Internship at Children's Defense Fund
Fundraising and Marketing Internships
Understanding how nonprofits successfully raise funds to support and sustain their work is an essential way of learning about nonprofit organizations. Whether your learning objective is just to understand nonprofits better or whether it is to prepare for a possible career in the nonprofit sector, an internship that builds your skills and experience in nonprofit fundraising and marketing can be a critical step to help you move forward.
Through a Fundraising or Marketing Internship with Children’s Defense Fund, interns will join the CDF Development Team whose work includes raising funds from foundations, government (public sector) entities, individuals, businesses, organizations and community groups.
Interns will assist in developing and analyzing the results of specific campaigns targeted towards specific audiences, learn basis strategies for segmentation and analytics, conduct background research for specific donors and donor prospects, conduct research and analysis related to funding across CDF’s various program and policy areas, and assist with CDF’s digital marketing and website fundraising efforts. Over the course of the semester, interns will also have the opportunity to participate in lunch and learn sessions with guest speakers and in meetings from time to time outside of their specific assignment areas.
