IDEA Center Marketing/ PR/ Social Media Intern
Position would be a commitment for fall and spring semesters during the 2018-2019 school year. Compensation consists of credit through an academic department (Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Cinema/Media).
Responsibilities include:
1. Assess marketing needs for IDEA Center; assist in the proposal and implementation of a comprehensive and strategic marketing plan in accordance with MARCOM recommendations and guidelines
2. Collaborate with IDEA Center staff and interns to promote selected events and programming.
3. Develop and maintain a social media strategy that includes Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter .
4. Develop and coordinate a strategic PR/Marketing effort with IDEA Center intern team utilizing campus programs, clubs, and academic activities.
5. Conduct focus groups as needed to better understand target audience and recommend most effective methods to reach intended markets
6. Maintain IDEA Center brand consistency through marketing and PR materials.
7. Develop post-event surveys, gather responses and provide written and verbal analysis/insights about respondents.
8. Participate in staff development activities.
9. Prepare a final presentation that would articulate skills and experience gained.
Qualifications include computer proficiency that includes word processing skills, organization, detail orientation, ability to relate to a wide variety of constituents, dependable with projects and time management, able to communicate ideas very well verbally and in writing, able to self regulate in a fast paced environment, able to think above-and-beyond and tackle projects with a “go-getter” attitude
Graphic design skills are a plus (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop), some video production experience a plus (Adobe Premiere)
