Job Shadow in Civil Engineering, Environmental/Utilities in Escondido, CA
The Indian Health Service is part of the broader Department of Health & Human Services of the Federal government. Engineering opportunities within HHS exist in several agencies (IHS, EPA, FDA, CDC, etc.) These positions include both civilian and active duty U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps positions.
You’ll shadow a UA alumnus (BS in Civil Engineering 2006 & MS in Engineering Management, 2016). The student shadow opportunity would include:

- A tour of the Escondido, CA office
- A presentation providing an overview of Sanitation Facilities Construction design engineer and O&M consultant roles within the Indian Health Service
- A brief overview of the Commissioned Corps
- An opportunity to interview design and O&M professionals.
