Outreach and Volunteer Coordinator
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage volunteer services and marketing-outreach for the HOME Program;
Develop and maintain strong relationships with community members;
Public speaking and presentations
OUTREACH RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing to and recruitment of clients, employees, volunteers and community partners;
Develop and maintain relationships with individuals and groups;
Actively engage in the community:
Presentations/meetings: to include community centers, senior groups, faith-based organizations, city meetings, corporations, schools and as requested;
Distribute literature on the HOME program and Senior Community Services;
On-line maintenance of web sites and email contacts;
Compile and maintain record of all outreach contacts, follow-up and outcomes, to be reported quarterly to the Director;
Assist Communication and Development Department with developing, coordinating and implementing public relations, marketing, communications, website and donor plan;
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruit, Train and Coordinate volunteers:
Posting volunteer opportunities on various media sources;
Contacting local businesses/corporations/faith-based/schools/individuals;
Attending community and corporate volunteer expos and fairs;
Complete intake registration for new volunteers, perform criminal background checks and conduct orientations;
Coordinate assignments, with detailed instructions and client contact information.
Schedule specific task assignment between volunteer and client;
Data entry of client and volunteers, volunteer task tickets, and tasks completed;
Follow up on Task Completion:
Collect total number of volunteers and task hours served;
Collect signed photo release when stories and photos are shared;
Mail or email thank you/ certificate of recognition/donor request;
Collect feedback on volunteer experience;
Present the opportunity for an on-going relationship;
Present the opportunity for donors to make financial donations;
Compile accurate statistical & demographic information for monthly, quarterly and yearly reports;
Maintain volunteer files (computer and physical);
Develop skilled based and internship opportunities;
Work with HOME staff and other SCS staff to coordinate agency wide volunteer recognition;
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist team to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals;
Attend staff and community meetings;
Assist staff with semi-annual newsletter;
Assist all HOME team staff with phones and data entry;
Promptly answer phone and email inquiries;
Other duties as assigned;
QUALIFICATIONS:
Three or more years’ experience in volunteer management preferred;
Passion for the mission and vision of SCS;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.;
Appointment scheduling skills (between volunteer and client);
Able to work in an open-office collaborative team environment;
Self-motivated, able to manage multiple priorities and make decisions;
Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm for written communication;
Ability to assist with employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments;
Microsoft Office applications proficiency (Excel, Word and Outlook);
Ability to learn in-house databases;
Positive attitude and a team player;
Able to sustain a high amount of energy from spring thru fall (April - November);
Strong organizational skills;
Able to be flexible in approach and schedule;
Calm and compassionate in working with the elderly and their caregivers;
Occasional night and weekend work required;
Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile available;
Must be able to lift 20 pounds and set up for events;
Four year degree in related field strongly preferred;
Must be able pass reference and background check;
LOCATION/COMPENSATION:
Location: Minnetonka, MN; on the bus-line; 40 hours per week;
$30,160-$34,320 based on experience, generous benefit package offered
