Research Assistant 1

Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the employee will be responsible for development of a taxonomy and scoring criteria for assessing the extent to which digital medicine pilot studies address the needs of special populations, including patients with limited digital skills, equipment, and connectivity. Specifically:

  • Convene an expert steering committee who will provide overall guidance for the project
  • Review literature to identify relevant taxonomies and frameworks concerning engagement of special populations in clinical research.
  • Conduct qualitative analysis of text describing digital medicine pilot studies
  • Develop draft criteria to supplement existing NODE Pilot Registry Application Form
  • Obtain expert input on the draft criteria, and revise accordingly.
  • Score each application currently in the pilot registry, using the supplemental criteria
  • Contact all investigators of pilots currently in the registry asking for submission of information related to the supplemental criteria
  • Rescore each application using the new criteria
  • Analyze results and draft a presentation and a write up for publication

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree plus one year of experience with clinical research.

Excellent English-language writing and speaking, and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail.

Ability to develop and maintain a spreadsheet in MS Excel, to format documents in MS Word and to create presentations in MS Powerpoint or other presentation software.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience working with populations who are underrepresented in research, experience health disparities, and/or have limited digital skills. Such populations include: people age 65+ years, African American and Hispanic adults, adults living below the poverty level, adults who have not completed high school, adults who are not fluent speaking and reading English.

Experience with qualitative data analysis software.

Experience recording data for clinical research studies.
