Mental Health Therapist — Training License Welcome | Trauma, EMDR & KAP
About the Position
Holistic Wellness & Psychiatry is seeking a warm, thoughtful, and collaborative mental health therapist to join our multidisciplinary practice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
We welcome candidates with an Iowa LMSW, temporary LMHC, temporary LMFT, LISW, LMHC, LMFT, or psychologist license. Early-career clinicians working toward independent licensure are encouraged to apply. Qualified supervision may be available for the right candidate, subject to supervisor availability, Iowa requirements, and payer approval.
The position will initially be a part-time hourly W-2 role at $35 per hour. Paid time includes patient care, documentation, required onboarding, supervision, case consultation, and assigned clinical meetings—not only face-to-face sessions.
The schedule can expand as the clinician’s caseload develops. HWP will formally review caseload, schedule, performance, credentialing, and compensation around 60–90 days. A transition to a full-time salaried role with benefits may be considered when the caseload and practice finances sustainably support it, but no particular timeline or volume is guaranteed.
Clinical Work
The therapist will:
- Provide individual psychotherapy using a trauma-informed, relationship-centered approach
- Complete diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation accurately and promptly
- Maintain appropriate follow-up plans and help patients remain connected to care
- Collaborate with psychiatric prescribers, therapists, nursing staff, and patient-access staff
- Participate in interdisciplinary case consultation and coordinated treatment planning
- Work with patients experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, grief, and other behavioral-health conditions
- Provide KAP preparation and integration after appropriate training, supervision, and competency review
- Participate in medicine-assisted KAP sessions only after the clinician’s role, readiness, safety requirements, and authorization are established
- Contribute to groups, intensives, couples services, or specialty programs when mutually appropriate
- Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, clinical documentation standards, and compliance with payer and privacy requirements
Trauma, EMDR, and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy
HWP provides traditional psychotherapy alongside psychiatric care, SPRAVATO®, IV/IM ketamine, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.
For clinicians interested in psychedelic-assisted therapy, HWP offers a structured developmental pathway involving:
- KAP preparation and integration
- Trauma-focused and relationship-oriented KAP
- Experiential and somatic approaches
- EMDR-informed work connected with ketamine treatment
- Couples, group, and intensive programming as services develop
Prior KAP experience is welcome but not required. Clinicians may participate only after appropriate orientation, training, supervision, competency review, and clinical authorization.
Supervision and Professional Development
Candidates working toward independent licensure may continue with an existing qualified supervisor if that arrangement can be integrated with HWP’s clinical and payer requirements. HWP may also help identify an approved supervisor already associated with the practice.
Any supervision plan, professional-liability coverage, and supervised billing pathway must be confirmed before independently scheduled patient care begins.
HWP offers:
- Weekly interdisciplinary case conference
- Collaboration with psychiatry, nursing, therapy, and interventional teams
- Mentorship in trauma-informed and experiential care
- Opportunities to learn KAP preparation and integration
- Credentialing, EHR, documentation, and clinical onboarding support
- A collegial clinical environment for therapists who do not want to practice in isolation
