About AllSet Education
AllSet Education is an education company that delivers excellent enrichment in STEM, Arts, Life Skills, and Movement—empowering TK–6 students, educators, and communities during and beyond the school day. With a mission to empower all with excellent education, we are building a bolder, brighter future by empowering educators, students, and communities with growth mindsets, diverse skill sets, and equitable toolsets. We create opportunities for both children and adults to grow, know, and show lifelong learning.
Position Overview
An AllSet Instructional Support Specialist is a lifelong learner, dedicated educator, and role model who works directly within elementary school classrooms during the school day. Working alongside lead classroom teachers, the Specialist provides targeted, small-group and individualized literacy and Math support using Seattle Public Schools’ newly adopted Emerge ELA / Math curriculum. By lowering student-to-educator ratios, Specialists help deliver differentiated reading instruction, facilitate foundational skill stations, and ensure equity-centered learning experiences for all students.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate Collaborative, Small-Group & Differentiated ELA/Math Instruction
- Station Management & Foundational Skills: Facilitate student groups and skill reinforcement stations while the lead teacher conducts whole-group or targeted instruction.
- Tiered Interventions: Lead Tier 2 and Tier 3 small-group work using Emerge ELA and Math materials to support students needing targeted assistance with reading fluency, phonics, and comprehension.
- Individual Support: Assist individual students during independent or guided practice to monitor comprehension, keep students on task, and provide immediate feedback.
- Classroom Integration: Work side-by-side with district classroom teachers to supplement instruction while managing small-group needs as instructed.
- Equity & Inclusion: Create safe, culturally responsive learning spaces using scaffolded instruction, trauma-informed practices, and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
Participate in Professional Growth & Curriculum Training
- Emerge ELA / Math Training: Complete required district- and AllSet-provided Emerge ELA / Math curriculum training prior to classroom placement to ensure familiarity with instructional strategies, terminology, and scope.
- Ongoing PD: Engage in paid, self-paced Set for Success professional development modules and supplemental PBIS training aligned with school culture.
- Collaborative Reflection: Participate in initial and ongoing collaboration with classroom teachers, AllSet leadership, and school site administrators to review student progress and refine small-group support.
Champion Student Well-being & Community Growth
- Prioritize the physical, emotional, and mental safety of students in all instructional decisions.
- Encourage student voice and confidence through scaffolded literacy practice, reflection, and self-expression.
- Advocate for equity and inclusion by honoring diverse identities and backgrounds, and embedding culturally responsive language and materials throughout instruction.
