About the RoleWe're looking for a School Based Social Worker to join our team and make a real difference in students' lives. Working directly in a school setting, you'll be a key link between students, families, teachers, and community resources — helping young people navigate the challenges that get in the way of learning and growth.
What you'll do- Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with behavioral, emotional, or social challenges- Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans tailored to each student's needs- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and special education staff on IEP development and student support plans- Connect students and families to community services, mental health resources, and social support programs- Respond to crisis situations and provide immediate intervention when needed- Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and records in compliance with school and regulatory requirements- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences- Serve as a mandatory reporter and follow all child welfare and safety protocols
About you- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required- Licensed or license-eligible in Maryland (LMSW or LCSW-C preferred)- Experience working with children and adolescents, ideally in a school or community setting- Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and evidence-based interventions- Comfortable navigating complex family dynamics and community systems- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
Nice to have- Prior experience in a K-12 school environment- Familiarity with Baltimore City public school systems or community resources- Experience with IEP/504 plan development
