County Correctional Police Officer

Burlington County Department of Corrections are seeking motivated, professional, and dedicated individuals for the position of County Correctional Police Officer. County Correctional Police Officers are responsible for the following: 

Under supervision, during an assigned tour of duty within an adult county correctional facility or institution, performs a wide variety of tasks in support of the safety, security and welfare of inmates, facility personnel and visitors; performs other related duties as required.

Requirements:

Candidates must be 18 years of age and maintain a valid New Jersey Driver's license.

Must pass medical and psychological testing.

Must pass background investigation.

Special Qualifications:

Must also be able to successfully complete the following physical assessment prior to attending the police academy:

Vertical Jump – 12.5 inches or more 

Sit-ups – 22 repetitions in 1 minute

 Push-ups – 19 repetitions in 1 minute 

300 meter run – 84 seconds or less 

1.5 mile run – 19 minutes or less

*Candidates must successfully complete a police training course approved by the New Jersey Police Training Commission. Such training includes successful attainment of a satisfactory level of proficiency in the use of firearms.
