Livestream Instructor for High School Math & Science: $100/hour

Are you the teacher whose class students look forward to, and learn to love? Do you thrive in front of the camera and know how to make challenging subjects like calculus and chemistry genuinely compelling? If you're experienced in leading live classes and have a professional-grade video setup, Varsity Tutors wants YOU to join our team of top-tier livestream instructors.

We're offering $100 per hour for expert educators who can deliver high-quality, engaging high school math, science, and AP livestream classes to thousands of students nationwide.

About the Role

As a Varsity Tutors High School Livestream Instructor, you'll teach the courses where students most need great teaching: Algebra I and II, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and the full range of AP courses from Calculus AB/BC and AP Physics to AP English, AP U.S. History, and beyond. You'll lead classes in real time through high-quality streaming, using interactive tools like chat and polls to work through problems, run reviews, and prep students for unit tests and AP exams. Your goal: turn the hardest classes on a student's schedule into the ones they feel most confident about.

What We're Looking For

  • Deep subject-matter expertise: a degree in your subject area and/or years of experience teaching it at the high school or college level

  • AP experience strongly preferred: teaching AP courses, scoring AP exams, or a track record of students earning 4s and 5s

  • Charismatic, camera-ready personalities who can energize large groups of teenagers and make rigorous content click

  • A natural performer who can entertain, educate, and captivate: you keep students engaged through the topics they dread most

  • A professional-quality video and audio setup that ensures your classes broadcast with clarity and reliability

Why You'll Love Working with Us

  • Above-industry pay: $100/hour for your time and expertise

  • Flexible schedule: Teach around your school day, or make this your main gig

  • Motivated students: AP and honors students who signed up because they want to excel

  • Exam-season demand: Heavy scheduling opportunities during AP review season and finals

How to Apply

Apply right here on Handshake with your resume. Please make sure your resume includes:

  1. Your subject expertise and high school/AP teaching experience

  2. A link to a video showcasing your livestreaming or on-camera teaching abilities (educational content preferred). Handshake does not accept video uploads, so add it to your resume as a link to YouTube, Vimeo, Loom or a shared Google Drive file.

  3. A short note on the courses you're best equipped to teach (and any AP scoring/reader experience)

If your application stands out, we'll invite you for a video interview where you can show us your streaming setup in action!
