Educator Development Trainer, Tulsa
Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Owasso, Jenks, and Sand Springs educators: if helping other teachers is the part of your job you like most, take a look. As an educator development trainer, you'd train K-12 teachers in classroom management on training days at their school or online.
Since most trainers are still teaching or leading schools, they train on evenings, weekends, personal days, and summers. Without territories, you choose the schools: close to home in Tulsa, farther away, or online.
The Weekend Certification is online, 36 hours across three days on two weekends, Content Mastery first, then High-Impact Facilitation. If graduate credit matters to you, the certification is eligible for 4 credits through UMass Global. Tuition is charged for certification, and both sponsorship and pay-over-time options are available.
Every trainer works as a 1099 independent contractor, and hours are not guaranteed. Expect most trainings to come from schools you contact, following the outreach approach you learn in certification. Contract writing and negotiation fall to your National Director. Trainers typically earn $1,000 or more per training day and get paid every Friday.
You'd also get orientation, training materials, and ongoing support from our team. We opened in 1993. Since then, more than 400,000 educators in all 50 states have trained with us.
The role suits current and former K-12 teachers, coaches, counselors, and principals, plus other educators. Student applicants are welcome if they plan to finish certification. A bachelor's degree is preferred for trainers.
