Professional Development Trainer, Long Beach

Maybe you're the Long Beach teacher whose room stays calm even in the last period of the day. Educators like that, in Long Beach, Lakewood, Signal Hill, or Carson, are who we're looking for. Professional development trainers teach classroom management to K-12 staffs during training days at the school or online.

Most trainers are active teachers and administrators. Evenings, weekends, personal days, and summers are when they train. There's no territory map. You decide whether to train locally in Long Beach, virtually, or in other states.

Every trainer goes through the virtual Weekend Certification, which runs 36 hours over three days on two weekends. If graduate credit matters to you, the certification is eligible for 4 credits through UMass Global. Certification carries a tuition cost, and pay-over-time and sponsorship options are available.

Hours are not guaranteed in this 1099 independent contractor role, and the number of trainings varies. Most trainings come from schools you reach out to yourself, using the approach taught in certification. Your National Director prepares the contract and negotiates with the school. Trainers are paid weekly on Friday, typically $1,000 or more per training day.

Support doesn't end with the certification weekends. Orientation, materials, and ongoing help are included. We've been training educators since 1993, and the total now tops 400,000 across all 50 states.

We'd like to hear from current and former K-12 educators, including teachers, principals, counselors, and coaches. Students can apply too, provided they intend to complete certification. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
